If you’re looking for something to do in Dallas that’s not necessarily the most popular, check out these unique attractions. We think you’ll find them memorable.

  1. Adrian E. Flatt, M.D., Hand Collection

The Adrian E. Flatt, M.D., Hand Collection offers an unusual look at more than 100 bronze casts of hands. An orthopedic surgeon who specialized in hand surgery, Flatt was inspired by the molds he made of patients’ hands. Eventually, his collection expanded to include some of the most famous hands in the world, from Dr. Seuss to President Dwight Eisenhower. The hands are housed at Baylor University Medical Center, where Flatt taught future orthopedic doctors.

  1. The Traveling Man

The Traveling Man is a collection of three sculptures of a robot depicted wandering through the quirky Dallas neighborhood of Deep Ellum. The sculptures, created by Brad Oldman  are chronological: “Awakening” features the robot’s head surfacing in a gravel pit, “Waiting on a Train” depicts The Traveling Man playing a guitar, and “Walking Tall” is shown mid-stride. They range from 4.5 feet to 38 feet high and are surrounded by metal birds.

  1. Thanks-Giving Square

Thanks-Giving Square in downtown Dallas is a serene meditative garden 15 feet below ground, created to celebrate kindness, inspire gratitude, and honor traditions of thanksgiving around the world. Breathtaking art and architecture express thanksgiving throughout the square, whose Court of All Nations celebrates humanity. The spiritual center of the square is the Chapel of Thanksgiving, which explores unity while also honoring the diversity of faiths and traditions around the world.
